DAY 4: SAN DIEGO - PHOENIX/

Pass through Cleveland National Forest, Imperial Valley and the Yuma Desert to Phoenix and Scottsdale, gateway to the Western Desert and its tourist oasis. Overnight: RADISSON RESORT

DAY 5: PHOENIX/SCOTTSDALE - GRAND CANYON (347km)
Leaving the desert travel to the high mesa of Montezuma's Castle, one of best preserved of the ancient Indian cliff dwellings. Continue to Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon's spectacular
landscape. Arrive at Grand Canyon, to watch the colorful sunset from the "South Rim".

DAY 6: GRAND CANYON - LAS VEGAS (452km)
The trip westward to Nevada passes by Lake Mead, one of the world's largest artificial lakes and the Hoover Dam which created it. Then on to Las Vegas. Overnight: LUXOR RESORT & CASINO

DAY 7: LAS VEGAS
Today is free to enjoy the swimming pool, visit the casinos, and attend the spectacular nightclub shows. Overnight: LUXOR RESORT & CASINO

DAY 8: LAS VEGAS - SAN FRANCISCO
In the late morning transfer to the airport for the included flight to San Francisco. Upon arrival in San Francisco, a city tour of "the City by the Bay" is scheduled. After the glitter and neon lights of Las Vegas, the elegant sophistication of San Francisco is a refreshing change as we visit Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, Golden Gate Park and of course, the city's landmark symbol, the Golden Gate Bridge.

DAY 9: SAN FRANCISCO
Today the entire day has been left free for your clients to enjoy this beautiful city independently. Exploring the shops on Union Square or riding a Cable Car are just some of the many things to do. As an alternative, optional excursions to Muir Woods or perhaps Carmel and Monterey are available.

DAY 10: SAN FRANCISCO

DAY 5: LAS VEGAS - MAMMOTH LAKES OR FRESNO (570km or 632km)
We depart early, heading for the majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains. During the winter months our route takes us through the farming communities around Bakersfield to end this day in Fresno instead. Overnight: MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN INN (summer) or SHERATON FOUR POINTS FRESNO (winter)

DAY 6: YOSEMITE - SAN FRANCISCO (291km)
Departure to Yosemite, over Tioga Pass in the summer and from the south through the Mariposa Grove in the winter. The morning is free to enjoy the beauty of Yosemite before departing in the afternoon to San Francisco.

DAY 7: SAN FRANCISCO
Morning city sight-seeing including Union
Square, Chinatown, Golden Gate Park, and Fisherman's Wharf. The afternoon is free to enjoy the city and to "leave your heart in San Francisco", as the famous song goes. Overnight: SIR FRANCIS DRAKE

DAY 8: S.F. - SANTA MARIA (425km)
In the morning, depart south towards Monterey. Enjoy the stunning views along 17-Mile Drive enroute to the picturesque city of Carmel. Then continue south along the Pacific Coast past Big Sur enroute to Santa Maria. Overnight: SANTA MARIA INN

DAY 9: SANTA MARIA - L.A. (253km)
In the morning, visit the quaint Danish Village of Solvang, and then on to Santa Barbara and its famous Mission. After free time to shop and explore, continue south for our afternoon arrival in L. A. and the conclusion of this tour.

DAY 2: SAN FRANCISCO
Today's program includes a sightseeing tour of San Francisco. This half day visit includes all major points of interest such as Union Square, Golden Gate Park, Chinatown and the Golden Gate Bridge. The tour concludes back at the hotel although those who prefer, can end the tour at Fisherman's Wharf and return to the hotel independently. The afternoon is free. DAY 3: SAN FRANCISCO - YOSEMITE (290km)
Meet your guide at 08:00am at the Handlery Union Square for departure in a modern air-conditioned motor-coach. The drive east traverses the fertile farmlands of the San Joaquin Valley and into the Sierra Nevada Mountains to Yosemite National Park. Upon arrival, following a tour of the valley, there is free time for independent sightseeing aboard one of the many trams or on the trails to the famous waterfalls.

In the late afternoon, departure from the park visiting the famous Mariposa Grove of giant Sequoia trees before proceeding to the hotel. Overnight: PINES RESORT

DAY 4: YOSEMITE - MONTEREY/CARMEL (456km)
This morning our tour again crosses the Central Valley of California enroute to the Monterey peninsula and the Pacific Ocean. Along the famed 17 Mile Drive enjoy sights such as Seal Rock, Cypress Point and the
Pebble Beach Golf Course. A stop in Carmel
is included before continuing on to the neigh-boring town of Monterey and its famous Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf. Overnight: CASA MUNRAS

DAY 5: MONTEREY/CARMEL - SANTA MARIA (259km)
In the morning, depart south along the spectacular California Coast on the Pacific Coast Highway, considered by many the most beautiful road in America. Past Big Sur is San Simeon where a visit to the famous Hearst Castle is included. Afterwards continue the drive through Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo to Santa Maria and tonight's lodging. DAY 6: SANTA MARIA - L.A. (253km)

DAY 10: SCOTTSDALE - GRAND CANYON
(347km) Enroute to Sedona, visit the ancient cliff-
dwelling of "Montezuma's Castle". Continue to Grand Canyon in time for sunset at the canyon's south rim. Overnight: NATIONAL PARK LODGE or similar

DAY 11: GRAND CANYON - BRYCE CANYON (396km)
Our day begins with an early departure along the scenic "East Rim Drive" and then on to Lake Powell. In the afternoon, continuation to Kanab, a favorite of many film-makers due to its scenic beauty. In the evening, arrival in Bryce Canyon. Overnight: BRYCE VALLEY INN

DAY 12: BRYCE - LAS VEGAS (397km)
In the morning, explore the wilderness of Bryce Canyon with its deep canyons and strange pink-tinted spires before continuing on to Zion National Park where the Virgin River has carved sheer walls of stone looming above the canyon floor. The arrival in Las Vegas this evening with its orgy of lights is a stark contrast to the day's natural sights. Overnight: LUXOR HOTEL & CASINO

DAY 13: LAS VEGAS
This day is free to enjoy the many sights and attractions of this gambling and entertainment capital. Overnight: LUXOR
